It is the second fine he has received in nine months having been stung by the Met for breaking lockdown rules.

In a statement this evening cops said: “You will be aware that a video has been circulating on social media showing an individual failing to wear a seatbelt while a passenger in a moving car in Lancashire.

“After looking into this matter, we have today issued a 42-year-old man from London with a conditional offer of fixed penalty.”

It is unclear how much the fine is, although the offence can carry up to a £500 penalty.

Downing Street admitted he made a “brief error of judgement” by removing the safety device for a video for his social media accounts to promote the new Levelling Up funds.
