Reform Party champions tax cuts for working class
Nigel Farage's Reform Party is set to unveil a series of tax cuts aimed at benefiting the working class, including those dubbed as 'white van man'. At the launch of their blueprint for power, Reform Party candidate Richard Tice emphasized their commitment to being the party of the workers, contrasting themselves with what they see as the elitism of Labour, labeling them a "caffe latte party".
Key tax cut proposals
Among the tax cut promises set to be announced by Reform UK are the abolishment of IR35 laws, which critics argue burden self-employed tradesmen such as plumbers and electricians with excessive taxes. Additionally, the party plans to raise the threshold for VAT registration to £150,000 in order to alleviate small businesses from bureaucratic red tape. Furthermore, Corporation tax is slated to decrease from 25% to 15% over a span of three years, and the income tax threshold will rise to £20,000 from the current £12,750.
Surge in popularity
Following Nigel Farage's return to the political scene, Reform Party has experienced a significant surge in the polls. A recent YouGov survey revealed that they have surpassed the Conservatives in voter preference for the first time. With ambitions to secure six million votes in the upcoming election, party insiders are optimistic about their chances of winning up to six parliamentary seats.
