Nigel Farage Urges Tory Councillors to Defect to Reform Party Ahead of Local Elections

Nigel Farage Calls for Defections

Nigel Farage has made a bold move by writing to every Tory councillor, encouraging them to join the Reform party before the upcoming local elections next year. He described this as a "lifeline" for 1,352 Conservatives who are up for re-election.

A Warning to the Tories

During an interview with Trending In The News, Farage expressed his belief that the Conservative party is "doomed" and referred to it as a "broken brand." He highlighted the existential threat faced by hundreds of Tories, especially in areas where Reform had success in previous elections.

Successful Defection

Farage revealed that one county councillor in Essex, Jamey McIvor, has already taken up his advice and defected to the Reform party. He emphasized that it doesn't matter who wins the Conservative leadership, as the party's brand remains damaged.

Reform's Recent Victories

Reform made significant gains in the July General Election, winning five constituencies. Farage himself was elected to represent Clacton after several unsuccessful attempts, while Deputy Leader Richard Tice secured victories in other areas. The party's total UK vote share stood at 14.3%, surpassing the Liberal Democrats but trailing behind the Tories.
