Record number of removals

Labour celebrates the deportation of 19,000 illegal migrants since July, with footage showing offenders being marched onto planes. The latest figures show 750 individuals were deported last month, including 360 foreign criminals convicted of serious offenses like drug crimes, theft, rape, and murder.

Deportation flights on the rise

Deportation flights are now taking off daily, marking the highest rate of removals since 2018. The UK has witnessed four of the largest-ever deportation flights, carrying over 850 people to destinations in Africa, Asia, Europe, and South America.

Government's strategy and response

The release of footage and increase in removals are part of a broader strategy to combat illegal migration and counter the influence of Reform UK. Home Secretary Yvette Cooper emphasized the government's commitment to restoring public confidence in the immigration system by swiftly removing those who have no legal right to stay, especially foreign criminals.

Labour's push to tackle small boat arrivals

With more than 1,000 people crossing the Channel this year, the Labour government faces pressure to stem small boat arrivals. MPs will debate the Borders Bill, proposed by Ms Cooper, aiming to equip immigration officers with enhanced powers to combat human traffickers.
