Kremlin Cronies Face Banishment from UK in Home Office Crackdown

New Crackdown Targets Kremlin-Linked Elites in London

In a new move by the Home Office, Kremlin cronies living luxuriously in London are set to be banned from the UK. This crackdown, marking the third anniversary of Russia's invasion of Ukraine, will expand the exclusion criteria to cover individuals linked to the Kremlin's elite circle.

Exclusion Criteria and Warning from Security Minister

The ban could apply to those who provide significant support to Vladimir Putin's regime or those whose wealth and status are tied to the Russian state. Security Minister Dan Jarvis emphasized the real danger posed by Kremlin elites to the British way of life, calling them out for benefiting from the UK's privileges while contradicting its values.

Combatting Russian Aggression and Border Security

Minister Jarvis highlighted the role of oligarchs, residing in lavish mansions in British suburbs, in supporting and expanding Russia's aggression. Since the invasion began, the National Crime Agency in the UK has made numerous war-related arrests and seized millions in illicit funds. Jarvis affirmed that border security is national security and vowed to utilize all available tools to safeguard the country from the threats posed by Russia.

Clear Message to Putin's Inner Circle

In a direct message to Putin's associates in Moscow, Jarvis stated unequivocally that those who have profited at the expense of the Russian people and funded the ongoing war are not welcome in the UK. The measures announced aim to close the door on oligarchs enriching themselves while supporting unjustifiable actions.
