Heavily censored version of Sue Gray’s report on No10 parties ‘will be released next week’

A HEAVILY censored version of Sue Gray’s report on No10 parties will be released next week, the Cabinet Office says.

Most of the details will be missing until the Met Police finishes its probe.

It means a make or break week ahead for the PM, who has promised to face questions in Parliament as soon as the Partygate report is out.

If it is scathing, it could spark new no-confidence letters from MPs and a leadership challenge.

It could also see a new whitewash row as the Met has ordered most of the detail about the No10 parties be stripped out until their own probe is completed.

And the force also admitted any rule-breakers identified in their £1million probe will get only a £100 fine — fuelling anger over its interference.

Furious politicians accused Met boss Cressida Dick of a “Whitehall farce” by springing the demand on investigators and leaving Boris Johnson in limbo.

One PM ally said: “This begs the question, what the f*** does Cress need to do to get fired from the Met? I suspect people are just getting fed up with this.” Tory

MP Sir Roger Gale said: “I think this has all the hallmarks of a Whitehall farce written in Scotland Yard.”

Sir Keir Starmer accused Mr Johnson of using “both Sue Gray and the police as a shield”.

The Labour leader added: “You don’t need Sue Gray, a senior civil servant, or the commissioner of the Met to tell you whether you went to a party.”
