Stars have to swim with a different species which get bigger and more dangerous each time.
One political insider quipped: "We all thought Penny had escaped the sharks when she left Westminster."
The show will be filmed later this year — in an area of the Bahamas known as the "Shark Tank" — to coincide with the 50th anniversary of movie blockbuster Jaws.
Ms Mordaunt, pictured at the King's Coronation, lost her Portsmouth seat in July’s Conservative election bloodbath.

Who Will Take the Plunge?
An ITV spokesperson said: "The team are talking to lots of different celebrities to find out who might be brave enough to take the plunge!
"The line-up will be announced in due course."
Ms Mordaunt declined to comment.
