Exclusive Poll Reveals Brits' Concerns Over Labour Super-Majority

Key Findings:

According to an exclusive poll for Trending In The News, Brits are expressing worries about the potential of a Labour super-majority. The survey conducted by pollsters at the More In Common think-tank indicates concerns about the effective opposition to Sir Keir Starmer being wiped out if predictions of a Tory bloodbath come true.

Voters' Fears:

Some experts are predicting that Labour could secure a 200-seat majority on July 4th, raising apprehensions among voters. When asked whether they would prefer to see the Tories lose more seats leading to a weaker opposition, or vice versa, 43% opted for a smaller Labour majority while 28% supported a larger one.

Concerns Across Party Lines:

Interestingly, the fear of a super-majority is particularly pronounced among 2019 Tory voters, with 68% expressing concerns compared to just 14% who do not. Even those who switched from the Tories to Labour are hesitant about granting Sir Keir Starmer a blank cheque, as 56% of them do not wish to see an anti-Tory landslide if it results in a less effective opposition.

Rising Apprehensions:

There is a prevailing worry among voters that granting Labour a giant majority could lead to increased taxes and immigration. The survey, which included over 3,000 participants, sheds light on the concerns and preferences of the electorate as the political landscape evolves.
