David Cameron Returns to UK in Economy Class After Weekend Trip to Rome

Former PM Spotted in £86 Economy Seats

Former Foreign Secretary David Cameron was seen looking glum as he flew back to the UK from a weekend getaway in Rome in economy class. The 57-year-old took a break from the campaign trail to enjoy some time with his family in sunny Rome, where temperatures reached 28 degrees.

Details of the Return Journey

Cameron, along with his wife Samantha and other family members, was hurried through Rome's Leonardo da Vinci Fiumicino Airport to catch an £86 Vueling flight back to the UK on a standard Airbus A320. Exclusive footage shows Cameron sitting in a middle seat, dressed in a smart green shirt, while reading his emails and holding two iPhones.

Reaction from Passengers

A passenger on the flight mentioned that there was some commotion as Cameron was rushed through the airport and that not all passengers recognized him. Expressing surprise at his choice of economy seats, the passenger commented, "you would have thought he would have got more expensive seats."

Quick Exit and Return to Campaign Trail

Upon landing in the UK, Cameron was swiftly escorted off the plane by security guards before other passengers disembarked. While Cameron immediately left the airport, his family members had to wait in line for border control.

The following day, Lord Cameron resumed his campaign activities, visiting three constituencies and meeting with four Tory candidates. His return from Italy comes after Northern Ireland Secretary Steve Baker also faced criticism for holidaying in Greece amidst the election campaign.
