Crackdown on Hate Preachers: UK to Deny Entry to Extremists

Taskforce Established to Identify and Block Entry of Dangerous Extremists

A dedicated taskforce is being set up to identify and deny entry to dangerous hate preachers and extremists in the UK. This includes foreigners with a history of spreading poison, whose visas will either be cancelled or refused. Firms sponsoring visas for these individuals also risk having their sponsorship licenses revoked.

Proactive Measures Against Extremism

The Home Office is concerned about the threat to public safety posed by prominent extremists, such as radical clerics and far-right individuals. Intelligence gathered from British embassies and community fieldwork will be used to pinpoint potential targets. The Home Secretary already has the power to bar people deemed not conducive to the public good from entering the UK.

Rigorous Assessment and Tightened Definition of Extremism

Individuals identified as extremists will undergo a thorough assessment by the Home Office based on their past behavior and risk to the public. The recent tightening of the definition of extremism aims to combat the rise of Islamist and far-right extremism. This includes outlawing those who seek to undermine or replace the British democratic system and values, as unveiled by Michael Gove.
