BORIS Johnson is preparing to rip up the hated Northern Ireland Brexit deal as soon as Friday.
The PM will spark an almighty row with the EU by drawing up laws breaching the landmark agreement he signed just 2½ years ago.
Last night he rang Irish PM Micheál Martin, warning the current “very serious” situation was putting the hard-won Good Friday peace accord at risk.
But Government insiders said no final decisions had yet been taken.
Today Foreign Secretary Liz Truss will tell EU chiefs the protocol was pushing up food prices and causing chaos for businesses.
However EU chiefs have doubled down on their hardline position, insisting “renegotiation is not an option”.

The Democratic Unionist Party’s leader, Jeffrey Donaldson, said earlier this week it was time for Johnson’s government to “step up” and sort out the Northern Ireland Protocol.
Under it, checks are required on goods entering the province from the rest of the UK.
It has been a source of UK and EU tension and sources say Truss is “deeply concerned” after Brussels said it would “never” change its negotiating stance.
