One peculiar character you'll encounter is a Drow known only as "He Who Was." While he may not seem trustworthy, lending him a helping hand could lead to some great rewards.

The Enigmatic He Who Was

Little is known about this mysterious character and his true intentions or objectives. All we know for certain is that he is a Drow, a race associated with the dark and twisted world of evil magic.

Should You Assist He Who Was?

He Who Was will request that you find a ledger to carry out a ritual on a corpse. Even if you're hesitant to aid him, it's worth completing this initial step to gain more insight into the situation.

Once you acquire the ledger, He Who Was will transfer the spirit of the deceased woman into his body, allowing her to communicate with you.

You'll learn that she accidentally caused the death of her friends. The choice of how to handle her punishment lies in your hands. You can choose to forgive her, reprimand her, convince her to take her own life, or kill He Who Was while he's possessed.

If you choose to forgive her, He Who Was will become angry and attack you, forcing you to eliminate him. Convincing her to take her own life will also enrage He Who Was, resulting in the need to eliminate him.

However, killing him isn't really worthwhile, as he doesn't drop valuable loot. Therefore, it's advisable to assist him.

In this case, berating the woman will please He Who Was, and he'll reward you with the Raven Gloves.

The Raven Gloves grant you the ability to summon a weak raven minion, which can be utilized in various ways.
