Disappointing Launch of Star Wars: Battlefront Classic Collection
Star Wars enthusiasts were eagerly anticipating the release of the new Star Wars games collection announced during the recent Nintendo Direct. The collection, known as Star Wars: Battlefront Classic Collection, was launched on multiple platforms on Thursday, March 14, 2024.
Technical Issues and Server Problems
Despite the excitement, players were left frustrated as the game failed to live up to expectations. With a price tag of £30 / $35, many fans encountered difficulties accessing the online multiplayer games. It's been reported that the servers were ill-equipped to handle the influx of players, leading to crashes and connectivity issues for the majority of the 10,000 users attempting to play.
Size and Performance Concerns
Adding to the disappointment, players found the game to be a massive 63GB in size, significantly larger than other games in the market. This bloated size is believed to be a result of rushed development and poor data compression. As a consequence, quick matches were limited to just 2 minutes, leaving players unsatisfied with their gaming experience.
User Feedback and Refund Options
Unsurprisingly, the game has received a low 21 rating on Steam, indicating widespread dissatisfaction among users. Fortunately, players who have played less than 2 hours are eligible for a refund through Steam, although the refund process may be more challenging on other platforms.
