Six comfy games to keep you cosy

AT the end of a long day there’s nothing nicer than curling up in bed with a cup of tea.

There’s nothing better to distract yourself from the crushing responsibility of life than one of the comfiest games out there.

Six comfy games to keep you cosy
Imagine a life as a Pokémon photographer.

From farming simulators to island living, there’s nothing nicer than imagining a peaceful life.

Here’s our six favourite comfy games to chill out and relax with.

Unpacking

Unpacking tells the wordless story of a person unpacking their life every time they move house.

As they grow up you pay attention to the different places they live in as time passes by.

The entire story is told via the items they bring with them, and all that they leave behind.

Unpacking is available on Nintendo Switch, Xbox One and Xbox Series X|S, and PC via Steam.

Stardew Valley

When you think of comfy games Stardew Valley is always the first name on everyone’s lips.

After inheriting your grandfather’s farm, you move out to the countryside and get used to the new lifestyle.

Farming aside, meet the people of the village, rebuild the community centre, and take part in local festivals.

Stardew Valley is available on all modern platforms, and mobile devices.

Animal Crossing: New Horizons

Every Animal Crossing game is a masterpiece, but New Horizons goes above and beyond.

You create a new life on a remote tropical island, and welcome new residents.

Catch bugs and fish to place in the local museum, and build your ideal house.

Animal Crossing: New Horizons is exclusive to Nintendo Switch.

Chicory: A Colourful Tale

For reasons unknown, all the colour is sucked out of your forest home, and you find the paintbrush that can put life back in.

There are multiple people you can meet along your journey who can be helpful or hurtful to your quest.

Looking for the paintbrush’s original wielder leads down a darker path than it first seems.

Chicory: A Colourful Tale is available for Switch, PC, PS4 and PS5.

New Pokemon Snap

As your car moves ever forward through varied and gorgeous environments you spot Pokémon following you along.

Your job is to photograph the different species you find, by going down different hidden paths.

Try to get the best pics possible with excellent framing, close-up action, and perfect posing.

New Pokemon Snap is also exclusive to Nintendo Switch.

Katamari Damacy Reroll

As the Prince of the Cosmos you are tasked with creating new stars from things you roll up.

While it is difficult to roll the blobby Katamari at first, it’s satisfying to roll up animals, people and eventually large buildings.

The more you roll up, the bigger things get in this delightfully silly game.

Katamari Damacy Reroll is available on all consoles and PC.
