IF you play online games frequently, the cost of all of the subscription services can soon add up.
That’s without mentioning how hard it can be to get your hands on rare consoles such as the PlayStation 5.
Nintendo Switch’s latest model.
One of the options for gamers who are terminally online is to sign up for an online console bundle, which can help you spread the cost of the console and subscription services.
EE has been selling a popular bundle for the Xbox Series X for a while, which offers people the chance to pay for the console and two years of Xbox Game Pass Ultimate on contract.
Now the company has two new bundles on offer for those who want to get their hands on the PS5 or Nintendo Switch OLED.
Looking first at the PlayStation 5, you can grab the console, a two-year subscription to PS Plus and unlimited mobile gaming and YouTube data on contract.
This means that you can watch as many YouTube streams and videos, and play popular games such as Pokémon Go without eating into your mobile data limit.
The bundle costs just £10 up front, and then £31 a month for two years after that. This is a total of £754 by the end of the contract.
PlayStation recently announced that the price of the console is rising.
The new price is £389.99, while PS Plus Essential, which offers you new games to download and play every month, costs £99.99 for a year’s subscription.
This means that separately the bundle is worth £490, without factoring in the cost of the mobile data.
If you are someone who plays a lot of mobile games, or watches YouTube frequently on the go, and spends more than £7 a month on data for these, this bundle will save you money.
However, it’s also a viable option for those who simply want to spread out the cost of the payment.
The Nintendo Switch OLED Bundle contains the console, the same mobile data deal, and a Nintendo Switch Online subscription for £10 up front, and £17 a month for two years, adding up to £418.
OLED consoles are cheaper than PlayStation’s console at £309.99, while Switch only is £17.99 for a year’s subscription.
This makes the separate cost £345, meaning those who spend more than £3 a month on their mobile data will save money here.
