PlayStation fans flock to Summer Sale for lowest prices on 2023 games

Best year ever for gaming, with high-rated releases

The year 2023 has already been a standout year for gaming, with many games receiving high ratings in the 80s and 90s. Even though we're only in August, there have already been so many incredible game releases that it's hard to keep up.

As prices drop, gamers rush to stock up

However, one challenge many gamers have faced is aligning their enthusiasm for these amazing games with the state of their wallets. Thankfully, summer has arrived, and with it comes massive sales from major gaming outlets.

PlayStation Summer Sale offers up to 90% off

Currently, PlayStation is in the final week of its Summer Sale, offering discounts of up to 90% off on a variety of games. What makes this sale particularly exciting is that many of the games released this year are now at their lowest prices ever.

Highlighted game deals not to be missed

Among the games on sale, there are a few that stood out to us. First, we have Persona 3 Portable and Persona 4 Golden, both of which were recently ported to modern consoles. Persona 3 introduced 3D action to the series for the first time and added relationship mechanics, while Persona 4 is considered one of the best games in the series, following the protagonist's journey in the Japanese countryside. You can even get a bundle with both games for just £23.09 ($27.64) on the PlayStation Store. Sonic Origins Plus, a collection featuring classic 2D Sonic games, was only released in June but is already on sale with a decent discount. The collection includes Sonic the Hedgehog, Sonic 2, Sonic 3 and Knuckles, and Sonic CD, along with several Sonic Game Gear games. You can grab the entire collection for just £26.24 ($29.99). For those who enjoy relaxing farming simulators, Story of Seasons: A Wonderful Life is a great choice. Released in June, you can start building your farm and getting to know the people in town for just £27.99 ($39.99). Lastly, there's Tchia, a PlayStation exclusive tropical open-world adventure game. It's currently priced at a mere £18.84 ($19.49) and offers a fun experience for the whole family. However, we do advise against trying out The Lord of the Rings: Gollum, as it has been one of the worst-rated games of the year.
