Players Outraged as Highly-Anticipated Game Taken Offline Minutes After Early Access Launch

Game-breaking Bug Disrupts Suicide Squad: Kill the Justice League

The long-awaited game Suicide Squad: Kill the Justice League launched into early access today, but it was met with frustration as players encountered a game-breaking bug. The online co-op game set in Batman’s universe had to be taken offline less than an hour after release.

Early Access and Release Dates

Suicide Squad’s official release date is set for February 2, 2024, when all players should be able to play. However, those who purchased the more expensive Deluxe Edition are granted access up to 72 hours earlier. The game launched into early access on consoles at midnight local time on January 30, 2024.

New Zealand Time Zone Trick

New Zealand, being 12 hours ahead of the UK, was among the first countries to receive Suicide Squad: Kill the Justice League. Some players from other territories managed to access the game earlier by utilizing the so-called "New Zealand time zone trick" on Xbox consoles.

Game-breaking Bug and Maintenance

Shortly after the game's release, players discovered a bug that automatically completed the game's story upon logging in for the first time. Less than an hour after launch, developers Rocksteady acknowledged the issue on Twitter and took the game offline for maintenance. The developers have not provided a specific timeframe for when the game will become available again.

Frustration for Deluxe Edition Owners

The bug is particularly frustrating for Deluxe Edition owners, who paid extra for early access. These players in New Zealand and Australia have already missed out on the perk they paid for. As the early access time arrives in more time zones, more players will be affected if the issue is not resolved promptly.

Upcoming Access and Updates

Suicide Squad: Kill the Justice League will continue to launch into early access at midnight local time on January 30 for consoles. PC gamers via Steam can start playing at 6pm UK Time / 10am PT on the same date. Players are advised to follow the game's official Twitter account for updates.
