Rare Pokémon Raid Event
A new Pokémon event is offering fans a chance to get their hands on some highly valuable and rare Pokémon at much higher rates than usual. This weekend marks the return of a major Pokémon raid event featuring two normally unavailable Pokémon – Walking Wake and Iron Leaves – in raids for a limited time. These four Pokémon will be more abundant for two weeks, making it easier for trainers to catch them.
Mass Outbreak Event
Aside from the raid event, Pokémon Scarlet and Violet are also hosting a mass outbreak event. Four Pokémon – Varoom, Magikarp, Shinx, and Rellor – will be appearing in Paldea, Kitakami, and Blueberry Academy in large numbers. These mass outbreaks will see hordes of the Pokémon spawning at once, providing trainers with ample opportunities to catch them.
Boosting Shiny Rates
Typically, the chance of encountering a shiny Pokémon is 1/4000. However, in the mass outbreak event of Pokémon Scarlet and Violet, all Pokémon have a significantly higher shiny rate of 1/200. This rate can be further boosted by using items like sandwiches, the Shiny Charm, and by defeating multiple Pokémon in the outbreak. The highest shiny rate achievable in the game is 1/512.
Finding Shiny Pokémon
To increase your chances of finding a shiny Pokémon during the mass outbreak event, simply approach the marked area on the map and keep an eye out for the rare variants. If you don't spot one initially, walk away to allow the Pokémon to despawn, then return to the area to try again. This method increases your chances of encountering a shiny Pokémon during the event.
Don't miss out on this special event celebrating Golden Week in Japan! Players have until May 6, 2024, to capture shiny Rellor, Varoom, Shinx, and Magikarp during the mass outbreak event. Happy hunting, trainers!
