IN an earning call with investors, an executive at publisher WB Games revealed that Mortal Kombat 12 is coming this year.
Mortal Kombat 11 was released in 2019 to critical acclaim, despite some concerns over microtransactions to perform easy finishers.

Some have speculated that the executive was talking about the upcoming mobile game, Mortal Kombat: Onslaught.
This game is a complete departure from the fighting game formula, and will be in the beat ‘em up genre.
However, this seems not to be the case, as the executive named ‘Mortal Kombat 12’ specifically.
Series director Ed Boon has never hidden the fact that the Mortal Kombat series will continue.
Following the earnings call, he jokingly tweeted: “So who has heard the news about Injustice 3?” adding to the credibility of the statement.
Further, the executive spoke about Mortal Kombat 12 in relation to WB Games that are releasing this year.
They also mentioned Suicide Squad: Kill the Justice League, which will be released on May 26, 2023.
Fighting game fans have a lot to look forward to.
Street Fighter 6 will be released on June 6, 2023, seven years after Street Fighter 5 first launched.
The long-awaited sequel, Tekken 8, is scheduled to be released in 2024, nine years after Tekken 7.
It’s unusual that three of the biggest series from the same genre release in such a small time frame.
