WEEKLY snapshots in Minecraft have started back up, giving us access to some planned features in Minecraft early.
The 1.20 update for Minecraft is not far away, and the latest snapshot will let us try out and give feedback on intended features before their full launch.
We really like the camels.
These minor updates are going to be released more often while the team continues to work on the much bigger ones.
If you have Minecraft Java Edition, you can try out all the features below from today.
Experimental features
A toggle has been added to the menu where you can turn on or off something called experimental features.
This will let you choose whether you want to try out incomplete features being trialled in the game.
The toggle can be found in the data pack menu when creating a new world.
1.20 features coming to Snapshot
All of the official features coming in the 1.20 update, such as camels and bamboo wood, will all be available in Snapshot.
You can try them all out now, but just be aware that they may not look the same in the final release.
Creative inventory changes
If you don’t have in-depth knowledge of all the materials in Minecraft, it can be difficult to figure out the creative inventory.
Various tabs have been redesigned so the same categories of blocks are together.
Items that fit in multiple categories will appear in multiple tabs, making them easier to find.
There is still a search bar available for those who get lost.
New wood sounds
Each different type of wood will have a different sound every time they are placed, broken, or stepped on.
They have also been organised into three different categories: overworld, nether and bamboo.
Bundles
This feature was planned for The Wild update, but is only getting its first outing now.
Bundles will help you carry multiple types of items in a single inventory slot, holding up to 64 items at a time.
Your inventory won’t be any bigger, but it will help those who struggle with organisation.
As with all experimental features, it will need to be toggled on before it can be used.
