Pokémon Go took the mobile gaming world by storm in 2016, becoming the most popular game of its kind. Developer Niantic has since tried to replicate that success with mixed results. However, their latest release, Monster Hunter Now, has finally struck gold. While it may not have reached the same level of excitement as Pokémon Go, it has already garnered over 10 million downloads since its September launch.
A New Adventure Awaits
Monster Hunter Now follows a similar gameplay style to Pokémon Go, requiring players to explore the real world to gather resources and encounter monsters. But instead of capturing beasts, players must defeat them and use the materials collected to create powerful weapons and armor. The game launched with six weapon types and 13 large monsters to take on, with plans for regular season updates to expand the content.
Introducing Fulminations in the Frost
The upcoming season update, titled Fulminations in the Frost, is set to launch on December 7 as a free update. This update will introduce four new large monsters to the game: Radobaan, Banbaro, Barioth, and Zinogre. Players can also look forward to two new weapon types - the fast-paced Dual Blades and the slow and steady Lance. Additionally, a new status element will be added, allowing players to put monsters to sleep.
A Focus on Balance
Niantic is not only expanding the game's content but also focusing on rebalancing the gameplay. The goal is to ensure that all weapons feel equally powerful to wield, providing a fair and engaging experience for players.
If you're a mobile gaming enthusiast, keep an eye out for the games coming to Netflix soon. The world of mobile gaming continues to evolve, and there's always something new to discover.
