The Right Choice
When the modern take on Final Fantasy 7 was split into three parts, fans had concerns about paying for just a third of the original. However, after playing the second part, Rebirth, it seems that Square Enix made the right choice.
A Familiar Combat
Rebirth's combat is almost identical to the first game in the remake trilogy, which may be seen as positive or negative by fans. While some may want something new, the cohesion of the gameplay helps to keep the series consistent. Additionally, the introduction of synergy attacks adds a fresh twist to the combat system.
New Playable Characters
In Rebirth, players have the opportunity to play as new characters, including Sephiroth during a flashback scene. The addition of these characters expands the gameplay experience and adds variety to the game.
A Vast and Engaging World
Rebirth starts with the gang leaving Midgar for the first time, and the explorable area expands dramatically, just like in the original game. This expansion offers players the chance to explore, discover collectibles, and encounter new challenges, ensuring that the gameplay remains exciting and prevents it from becoming repetitive.
A Familiar, Yet Beloved, Experience
Rebirth retains the beloved visual style and the Active-Time Battle system that players enjoyed in the first Remake. While players often expect more from a sequel, the structure of the trilogy means that most fans simply wanted more of what they loved about the game.
Looking Ahead
Final Fantasy 7 Rebirth is set to launch in early 2024 and will contain two discs, guaranteeing that fans will get more of the game they love. While we hope for some significant story changes, like in the first Remake, we'll have to wait until next year to find out.
