SPIDERS are a common fear, but many games feature them heavily.
Classic scenes from the Harry Potter series, such as Aragog and his children in the Forbidden Forest, have haunted fans for years.
Spider have been replaced by this red blob with roller skates.
Hogwarts Legacy heavily features our eight-legged friends, which has deterred some from playing.
However, they no longer need to worry as the latest upgrade has offered an Arachnophobia Mode for this scared of spiders.
The new mode adds a number of changes to the game.
Sound effects such as spiders skittering around or screeching have been reduced or removed.
In some areas, hordes of small spiders can run across the ground, these have also been removed.
Large spider corpses that can be found in some areas are now invisible to prevent players from being spooked.
The main difference is to the enemy spiders you need to fight as part of the story.
These can’t be removed, so instead WB Games has replaced the models with a less threatening red blobs on rollerskates.
This is an allusion to the Boggart that Ron gives roller skates to in the book, in order to make them look ridiculous.
The only spiders that remain in the new game mode are the static images in the Field Guide.
Arachnophobia Mode is completely optional, and if you are a fan of spiders you can keep them in your game.
The new mode was released alongside the PlayStation 4 and Xbox One versions, but is also available on PS5, Xbox Series X|S and PC.
Star Wars Jedi: Survivor has a similar mode in order to cater to more people.
