Price Hike and New Additions
Fortnite has announced its first-ever price increase for the Battle Pass, raising the cost from 950 to 1000 V-Bucks. This change translates to a small increase of $0.45 / £0.35, marking the first price adjustment since the game's launch. The new price will take effect on December 1, 2024, coinciding with the launch of Fortnite OG as a permanent mode.
Fortnite Crew Subscription Updates
In addition to the Battle Pass price hike, Fortnite is introducing changes to its Crew subscription service. Subscribers currently receive access to the Battle Pass for Battle Royale mode, 1,000 V-Bucks, and other rewards for $11.99 / £9.99 per month. Starting December 1, 2024, the subscription will include access to battle passes for Fortnite Festival and Lego Fortnite modes, without a change in price.
Impact on Players
While the new changes offer more content to players, some fans are divided. For those primarily interested in Battle Royale, the additional rewards for other modes may not be appealing. With most seasons lasting around 75 days, players may need to subscribe for multiple months to experience the full benefits of the Battle Pass.
Player Reactions
Many players are focused on Battle Royale and may find the changes less beneficial. The updates seem to encourage players to opt for higher-priced subscriptions. It remains to be seen how these changes will impact the Fortnite community and player engagement in different game modes.
