THE latest game in the Football Manager series is arriving in time for Christmas, and there are some new changes meaning some players can get it for free.
Releasing on more platforms than ever before, a number of subscription services have been included for the first time.
Football Manager is coming to PS5 for the first time.
This means that if you use services such as Xbox Game Pass or Apple Arcade, you will be able to play Football Manager 2023 (FM23) at no extra cost.
It is also the first time that a Football Manager game will be available on the PlayStation 5.
Football Manager was on PlayStation consoles previously, but not since the latest hardware was released.
There is no news as to whether the game will launch on PlayStation Plus.
Studio director, Miles Jacobson, said: “FM23 marks another significant step forward for the Football Manager series as we debut on two new platforms.
“Fans have been calling for us to produce a PlayStation title for a number of years, so I’m excited for those players to now get the chance to experience the closest thing to being a real football manager.”
This entry also sees the return of FM23 touch — a version of Football Manager made specifically for mobile devices.
Jacobson explained: “Our decision to not release a Touch game on iOS or Android in 2021 was a difficult one to take and a disappointing one for some of our fans.
“This exciting partnership with Apple Arcade allows us to reintroduce a popular title in a way that makes sense for us as a studio and for the wider FM community.”
Football Manager 2023 will be released in four separate versions on November 8, just two months after today’s announcement.
The original Football Manager 2023 will be the version for players on Windows PC and Mac via Steam and the Epic Games Store.
FM23 Mobile will be available for iOS and Android, while FM23 Touch will be released for Apple Arcade users and Nintendo Switch.
A console version of FM23 will be available on both Xbox Series X/S and PlayStation 5.
