FIFA 23 has announced its highest rated player — and it’s not Mbappé, Messi or Benzema

FIFA 23’s Ultimate Edition launches tomorrow, and developer EA Sports has revealed who its highest rated player is ahead of release.

However, while fans were expecting popular players such as cover star Kylian Mbappé, Lionel Messi, Karim Benzema, or Kevin De Bruyne, they were surprised to find out who took the top spot.

FIFA 23 has announced its highest rated player — and it’s not Mbappé, Messi or Benzema
One player rates even higher than cover star Sam Kerr.

These men are all excellent footballers, and their 91-rating in FIFA 23 shows how great they are at the sport.

But one player is even higher with a rating of 92.

Barcelona’s midfielder, Alexia Putellas, has taken the top spot as the world’s best footballer.

She also captains the Spanish national team where she has seen great success.

Putellas is certainly deserving of the title of FIFA 23’s best player.

Last year she won the Ballon d’Or Féminin, the FIFA best women’s player, and the UEFA Women’s Player of the Year, the only person to win all three in the same year.

A number of women players also match Mbappé and co, with a player rating of 91.

FIFA cover star, Sam Kerr, has been captain of Australia’s national side since 2019.

She’s also Chelsea’s star forward, earning her a 91-rating.

France not only has Mbappé, and Benzema taking the top spots, but two women players as well.

Wendie Renard, captain of the French national side, and club Lyon rates at 91.

Another player for Lyon, Ada Hegerberg, also managed to snag a 91-rating.

While fewer female players rated 90+ compared to their male counterparts this year, there are still more women taking the top spots.

Four more female players were given a rating of 90, including former FIFA 15 cover star Alex Morgan.

Unfortunately, you won’t be able to recruit these players for your FIFA Ultimate Team (FUT), as EA Sports haven’t included women in the card packs.

You will be able to play them in Career Mode though, and in the upcoming Women’s World Cup.
