Quiet Announcement for Battlefield Labs
EA has revealed that the next entry in the Battlefield series is currently in development, with the announcement of Battlefield Labs. Despite being in a pre-alpha state, the game is already looking for playtesters. The reveal came without much fanfare, unlike traditional showcases for major game series.
Returning to the Core
The last entry in the series, Battlefield 2042, faced criticism for game-breaking bugs at launch. Following this, EA took a step back from the franchise, even cancelling the development of Battlefield mobile. Now, with Battlefield Labs, EA aims to right the wrongs of the past and return to the core of the series.
Playtesting and Ambitious Development
The upcoming game will still feature multiplayer modes and single-player missions. EA is seeking tens of thousands of playtesters to provide feedback and help supercharge development. The publisher is dedicating four development studios to the project, making it supposedly the most ambitious game EA has ever developed.
