BAYONETTA 3 has been making a splash with fans, but there are a number of hidden secrets many are struggling to find.
Those who want the best rank for each chapter will have to find all of the verses hidden in each level.
Hidden verses appear as coloured lights.
These can appear as golden, red or purple challenge lights in the overworld.
Read on to find all the hidden verses in Bayonetta 3, and how to conquer them all:
Chapter 1 — Bayonetta 3 all verses
- Verse 1 – There is a purple light to the right under a gazebo in the first area. Hold ZL to summon. Then press R and mash X to toss. Do this three times.
- Verse 6 – The second purple light on the right when you enter Tokyo. Hold ZL to summon. Then hold R to start a kiss and press X to release. Do this three times.
- Verse 10 – After Rodin’s shop, take a left and follow the street to the end. There’s a purple light where you defeat all enemies.
- Verse 18 – A golden light hidden on the top of one of the buildings when you enter Tokyo.
Chapter 2 — Bayonetta 3 all verses
- Verse 1 – The first golden light is to the right when you enter Tokyo.
- Verse 3 – In the first area there is a building on the left with a blue and white billboard on the front. Climb it to find a purple light. Stand under the moonlight and summon with ZL. Then use R to shoot a web, and Y to burn them. Do this eight times.
- Verse 5 -After Verse 4, go left down the street and turn left again down a narrow passageway. There will be a purple light at the end. For this one you can only damage during Witch Time, so time your dodges well.
Chapter 3 — Bayonetta 3 all verses
- Verse 1 – After the road starts to break away, you will see a platform on the right with a cube on it. Beat up the cube to turn it into a number of floating platforms. Jump across the platforms and onto a broken train. At the other side will be a golden light and the verse will start.
- Verse 2 – A purple light can be found on the roof of a building to the left in Taito. This is a combo challenge, so lock on with R3, and remember that dodging and shooting adds to the combo too.
- Verse 4 – There is a purple light to the right of the temple courtyard in Taito. Here you have to survive, so start dashing to keep away from where the floor is pulling you.
Chapter 4 — Bayonetta 3 all verses
- Verse 3 – Once you enter the castle, you’ll see a fort in the middle of a magma pool. Swing over to find a purple light inside. This is a regular battle with a five-hit limit.
- Verse 6 – Opposite Rodin’s shop is a broken path. Follow it to a golden light for this verse.
- Verse 7 – After Rodin’s shop you will find a purple light on the edge of the castle wall. Firstly, bring the flying enemy down with a combo, then stand under the moonlight and set your track. You still need to dodge or it will disappear.
Chapter 5 — Bayonetta 3 all verses
- Verse 2 – Go through the red gate on the right of the first area. There will be a purple light inside. This is another Witch Time one. Stand close to bait and then parry with R.
- Verse 3 – After the first verse, hang a left down a corridor to find the golden light.
- Verse 7 – After Verse 6, you will see a set of stairs to the left. At the bottom is a purple light. Enemies will regenerate health over time, so lock on and take them out one at a time.
Chapter 6 — Bayonetta 3 all verses
- Verse 1 – As soon as you load in, turn around and break down the cracked door. Inside the room will be the first verse.
- Verse 2 – At the end of the starting square, go right through a gate. You will see a golden light here.
- Verse 5 – From here, follow the little stairway down to see the purple light. This is another combo challenge.
- Verse 6 – Near where Rodin’s shop is, there is a stairway of the left heading down, at the bottom is a golden light.
- Verse 8 – After you ride the lift up, go slightly right and down from the rubble to see a purple light. In this one the floor damages you, so just keep jumping.
Chapter 7 — Bayonetta 3 all verses
A purple light marks challenge verses.
- Verse 2 – After the first fight, head up the hill a little to see this purple light. This is another combo challenge.
- Verse 6 – After Cheshire finds water, don’t go straight ahead; instead go to the left through another crack to find this one.
- Verse 7 – After Verse 6, continue on through a passage on the left. Before you head through the giant gate, make sure you head slightly right and grab the golden light in the distance.
- Verse 8 – In the room with the flowing sand, hug the left wall and climb the cliff to the top. You can see a purple light in the distance. Hit the cube to create platforms to go there. You have to beat all enemies with limited floor. Use lock on to take them out.
Chapter 8 — Bayonetta 3 all verses
- Verse 2 – After Verse 1, a purple light can be found inside a small building. This is another one where the floor pulls you in. Use a weapon that drags you towards the enemy like the yo-yo to help.
- Verse 3 – Down the right side of the building, where you find Verse 2, is the golden light to trigger this verse.
- Verse 6 – In the room filled with poison, push down just the first block to move one section. Then stand next to a pillar on the stairs on the left side, and when the stairs go back you’ll be taken into a hidden room. Follow the track to a purple light. For this one, summon with ZL, then press R four times to complete this.
Chapter 9 — Bayonetta 3 all verses
- Verse 1 – In the first area on the right, you will see a big waterfall flowing down into some pools. Climb to the top of this to find a golden light.
- Verse 2 – In the area full of crows, enter the building at the end to find the red light that starts this verse.
- Verse 3 – Go upstairs from Verse 2, and head left when you go outside to find a purple light. This is a combo challenge where you aren’t allowed to take damage. A homing weapon like the yo-yo is recommended.
- Verse 8 – In the room after the big weighing scales, in the corner to the right is a purple light. Go to the moonlight and bring out your crow. Grab the big enemy with R and drop him into the pit. After this you can clean up the other enemies yourself.
Chapter 10 — Bayonetta 3 all verses
- Verse 1 – In the first area go to the right, and you will see a floating platform. Jump aboard and climb to the top for a purple light. This uses Witch Time. Equip Selena’s Light and Gaze of Despair to help with this.
- Verse 6 – As soon as you land in the Champs-Élysées, there is a big red bus on the right, and a golden light hidden behind it.
- Verse 7 – A little further down the road, there is an alley on the right that leads to a purple light. This is a regular defeat enemies fight, but watch the four-hit limit.
Chapter 11 — Bayonetta 3 all verses
- Verse 2 – After you finish Verse 1, take a sharp left so you are going backwards on the main street. Here you’ll see the golden light to start Verse 2.
- Verse 3 – When you exit the subway, start heading backwards towards a dead end. You’ll see the purple light on the left. This challenge requires you only use your new demon friend, so stand under the moonlight and attack.
- Verse 5 – In the road after Rodin’s shop, destroy the cars to discover a hidden purple light. Here the enemies are invisible, and you can’t hit them. Unleash your new dragon friend by holding ZL and tap R to turn it into X form. You don’t need it out all the time, but you can bring it back out when the effect wears off.
Chapter 12 — Bayonetta 3 all verses
- Verse 1 – As you spawn, turn around. The purple light will be directly behind you. Summon the clock with ZL and press R. Bayonetta will jump in a mech suit which can break the barrier. Remember to keep holding ZL, or the mech will disappear.
- Verse 3 – After Verse 2, you will see an alleyway to your right. Follow it all the way to the end to see a square with the golden light in the middle that triggers this verse.
- Verse 5 – To the right of Rodin’s shop, there is a road filled with rubble. At the end is the purple light. For this you must not touch the floor. Fly by pressing B three times. You can circle the platform you’re on until an enemy destroys it. Then just fly between the three trees jumping off them to reset your flight.
Chapter 13 — Bayonetta 3 all verses
- Verse 1 – When you get control of Bayonetta, turn around to find a purple light. This is challenging because of the time limit. Equip the Nucleus of Talos and the Gaze of Despair for extra damage.
