AGDQ 2023 ended last weekend, raising almost $2.7million (£2.2million) for the Prevent Cancer Foundation.
This is a week-long event, where people play games as fast as possible 24 hours a day.
Powerwash Simulator was one of the best runs.
During the event a number of runners managed to beat the world record for their games, proving them to be the fastest in the world.
Here are the runs we recommend you watch from AGDQ 2023.
Super Mario Galaxy 2: Any% with bank
This was a four-way race between some of the game’s best runners, but it was still shocking when one of them beat the game in the fastest time ever recorded.
Jhay managed to topple Bowser in 2 hours, 54 minutes and 51 seconds, taking more than 40 seconds off the previous record.
The run uses a lot of jumps that appear impossible to the typical gamers, and some interesting abuses of Yoshi.
Each run takes a different route, making it hard to decide which screen you should watch.
Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles: Shredder’s Revenge: Co-Op Any% Arcade
This is another race, between two pairs of players that work together to rush through the beat ‘em up.
While Shredder’s Revenge looks like an old-school arcade game, it actually came out in 2022.
Both teams used a combination of Raphael and Splinter to take down the game as quickly as possible.
GeneralAndrews and DosPostman finished it in 55 minutes and 29 seconds, beating the previous record by almost four minutes.
Steven Seagal Is: The Final Option
The Final Option was never actually released, apparently due to licensing issues with Steven Seagal, who was motion captured for the game.
The runner played the beta prototype that hasn’t got fully playable levels, but players have decided how much needs to be completed.
Due to being unfinished, there are lots of funny glitches and exploits that can be done.
Crak Atak played all 18 levels in 24 minutes, setting a new record.
Powerwash Simulator: Soapless
Powerwash Simulator is exactly what you think it is. A game where you clean various objects using a power washer.
Taking things to the extreme, who will have to clean up an aeroplane, boat, and UFO as part of the challenge.
The runners, who were in two teams of three, made the challenge even more difficult by completing the game without using the soap buff.
The runners finished the task in 33 minutes and 31 seconds.
Super Mario All-Stars Shuffler: All four games any%
Not to be confused with the recent release of 3D games, this collection contains Super Mario Bros., Super Mario Bros. 2, Super Mario Bros.: The Lost Levels, and Super Mario Bros. 3.
The shuffler means that after you complete a level, you could end up in any other level from the four games.
As many speedrunners use muscle memory to carry them through the game, these quick changes can make it very difficult.
Including The Lost Levels, the original version of Super Mario Bros. 2 that was deemed too difficult for the West, this is a fun run.
