Coinbase Launches "Stand with Crypto" Campaign in Key States

Coinbase, a leading crypto exchange, has announced its "Stand with Crypto" campaign, which aims to support crypto legislation and promote candidates who are favorable towards cryptocurrencies. The campaign will specifically target nine US states, including four crucial swing states where voters have shown opposition to anti-crypto presidential candidates.

Swing States Include New Hampshire, Nevada, Ohio, and Pennsylvania

According to Coinbase's blog post, the four swing states that will be the main focus of the campaign are New Hampshire, Nevada, Ohio, and Pennsylvania. In a survey conducted by Coinbase, over half (55%) of voters in these states stated that they would be less likely to vote for candidates who oppose cryptocurrencies and Web3, a decentralized internet. The survey, conducted by Morning Consult a year ago, included 800 likely voters across these four states. Additionally, between 13-19% of respondents in these states owned cryptocurrency at the time of the poll.

Crypto Adoption Helps Families Overseas

Coinbase also highlighted that crypto adoption is particularly beneficial for families in Nevada, Ohio, and Pennsylvania. More than 40% of crypto owners in these states use blockchain technology to send money overseas to support their loved ones in paying for essentials such as food, housing, and healthcare. This method is significantly cheaper than traditional international wire transfers offered by banks.

"Stand with Crypto" Campaign Mobilizes Crypto Users

The "Stand with Crypto" campaign, launched by Coinbase in August, aims to push for clearer and more sensible cryptocurrency legislation in the US. In addition to the four swing states, the campaign will also focus on Arizona, California, Georgia, Illinois, and Wisconsin, where there is an over-index of crypto owners. Coinbase has organized a "Stand with Crypto Day" in Washington D.C. on September 27, where supporters will advocate for better crypto innovation and policy. The campaign encourages crypto owners and supporters to contact their members of Congress and urge them to pass favorable legislation.
