Gaming-focused blockchain Oasys has teamed up with rollup platform AltLayer to make it easier for developers to deploy metaverses within the Oasys ecosystem.
Oasys, a blockchain network aimed at increasing the mainstream adoption of play-to-earn (P2E) blockchain games, announced its partnership with AltLayer on Tuesday. The collaboration will leverage AltLayer's Rollup-as-a-Service feature to provide a simpler experience for builders who want to launch blockchain games and metaverses within the Oasys network.
Founded in February 2022, Oasys offers a "zero gas fee experience" and allows for asset portability between projects built within its network. The blockchain's founding team includes prominent figures from the gaming and crypto gaming space.
Oasys Director Daiki Moriyama explained that the partnership aims to cater to smaller game developers who are looking for an easier way to deploy their games on the blockchain. While larger companies may prefer to build their own fully customized Verse on Oasys L2, smaller developers can now build and deploy casual Verses more easily.
Moriyama also noted the expected increase in small and medium-sized developers and emphasized the importance of providing a platform that makes it easy to create a Verse within Oasys' two-layer architecture.
Looking ahead to 2024, Moriyama highlighted key developments in the blockchain gaming space. He mentioned the evolution of the environment around blockchain gaming, describing the industry as "thicker" than the previous year. He also pointed out the emergence of blockchain-gaming-focused marketing businesses and the growing interest from companies in various industries in the Web3 gaming niche.
