Popular Crypto Wallet-Draining Kit Closes its Doors

Inferno Drainer, a widely-used crypto wallet-draining kit, has announced that it is permanently shutting down. The kit gained notoriety for helping phishing scammers steal nearly $70 million worth of cryptocurrency this year.

Smooth Transition to Other Services

In a Telegram post on November 26th, the Inferno Drainer team stated that it was time for them to move on. However, they revealed that the files and infrastructure required to run the wallet drainer will remain active, allowing users to transition smoothly to other services.

The team expressed gratitude to everyone who had worked with them in the past and hoped to be remembered as the best drainer in existence. They also claimed to have successfully assisted users in their quest to make money.

A Notorious Player in the Crypto Scam World

Inferno Drainer rose to prominence earlier this year after the closure of the popular Monkey Drainer tool. Like its counterparts, Inferno offered crypto wallet-draining software and took a 20% cut of the stolen funds.

According to Web3 anti-scam platform Scam Sniffer, Inferno Drainer has stolen nearly $70 million from over 100,000 victims since February. However, the Inferno Drainer team suggests that the actual amount stolen may be over $80 million.

Warnings and Rivals

The Inferno Drainer team has deleted its affiliate Telegram account and cautioned users against trusting any other drainers using their name in the future.

Blockchain security firm CertiK described Inferno Drainer as one of the most damaging phishing kits they have encountered. However, they noted that there are still plenty of active providers in the market, including rival kits like Pink Drainer and Angel Drainer.

Monkey Drainer, another high-profile crypto drainer that stole millions, closed down in March, stating that it was time to move on to something better.
