THE location of the UK’s seven Covid vaccination centres have been revealed.
It comes as Boris Johnson has vowed to to deliver 200,000 vaccines a day in a bid to protect Britain’s most vulnerable against coronavirus.
Where are the 7 Covid mass vaccination centres?
The Government has set up centres in London, Newcastle, Manchester, Birmingham, Bristol, Surrey and Stevenage.
The locations are:
- Robertson House in Stevenage
- ExCel Centre in London
- Centre for Life in Newcastle
- Etihad Tennis Centre in Manchester
- Epsom Downs Racecourse in Surrey
- Ashton Gate Stadium in Bristol
- Millennium Point in Birmingham
What other facilities could become a mass vaccination centre?
There are several other areas under consideration, these are:
- Derby Arena
- Black Country Living Museum, Dudley
- Malvern’s Three Counties’ Showground, Worcestershire
- Villa Park, home of Aston Villa FC
- Leicester Racecourse
Morrisons has also confirmed its car parks in in Yeovil, Wakefield and Winsford will also operate drive-through vaccination centres.
There are also another 47 car parks up for grabs, the chain said.
Tottenham stadium, The Royal Vauxhall Tavern and G-A-Y in the capital have also all volunteered to act as vaccination centres.
What is the vaccination target?
Boris Johnson has vowed to vaccinate at least 200,000 people a day.
He has promised to inoculate 13.5 million people in five weeks.
A fuller plan will be published on January 11, – along with the first day of the daily vaccine figures.
