US will begin Covid vaccinations ‘on 11 or 12 of December,’ according to head of government coronavirus vaccine team

THE US expects to begin administering Covid-19 vaccinations to citizens in early December, according to the head of the government’s coronavirus vaccine effort.

The plan is to begin shipping the shots within a day of the vaccine getting approval, AFP reported.

“Our plan is to be able to ship vaccines to the immunization sites within 24 hours of approval,” Moncef Slaoui, the head of Operation Warp Speed, said.

“I expect maybe on day two of approval, on the 11th of 12th of December.”

Pfizer filed for emergency approval of their vaccine, which the company claims in 95% effective, on Friday.
