A MOTHER died of Covid just one month after giving birth to her fourth child – without ever having held him.
Michelle Stani, 37, died from coronavirus complications on January 12 after giving birth to her son four weeks earlier, according to her family.

Michelle’s aunt, Tina Stani, told the New York Post that the late mother was “heartbroken” over not getting to hold her newborn, who was born on Christmas Eve.
“Her partner had taken a picture of the baby and showed it to her, but that’s all she got,” Tina said. “It tore her up.”
“She literally texted me that she was heartbroken, that she wished she could hold her baby. That’s all she wanted.”
Michelle contracted the virus in December and died at a local New Jersey hospital about a month later of complications linked to pneumonia.
Tina told the Post that the virus hit the mother “hard very fast.”
Michelle leaves behind four children: Samantha, 19, Noah, four, Jordan, 11 months, and Jayden, who was just weeks old.
Michelle was the director of a daycare, according to her obituary, and graduated from Rutgers University in October with a master’s degree in education.
“She valued education highly and loved being around children,” her obituary says, also adding that she started her career as a childcare worker at the age of 18. “
Michelle’s partner Frank Allen posted a tribute to her on his Facebook, referring to her as the love of his life, and saying he was “so proud of her” for getting her master’s degree.
Michelle’s family members have reportedly been unclear about whether Michelle was vaccinated against Covid or not.
Her brother Jack Stani said that he assumed that she was vaccinated, but he wasn’t completely sure.
“I never knew my sister to be an anti-vaxxer,” Jack told NJ Advance Media. “She never talked about it. We never talked about the vaccine. It was just something that never came up.”
Studies have shown that unvaccinated pregnant women who catch Covid are more likely to face complications than vaccinated pregnant women.
Michelle’s funeral was held on Wednesday in Somerset, New Jersey.
Michelle’s 19-year-old daughter, Samantha Jones-Stani, spoke at the service and posted a heartwrenching memorial for her mother on Facebook as well.
“My heart is so broken and life will never be the same without you but I will always carry you in my heart,” said Samantha.
A fundraiser for Michelle is live on GoFundMe now. As of Thursday evening, the family has raised over $39,000.
