A MAN has been fined £200 after travelling 14 miles to search for Pokemon Go characters.
The unnamed man drove from his home in Bedworth to the village of Kenilworth, Warwickshire Police said.
He admitted to cops he had made the lockdown-flouting journey in order to look for more characters.
“Everyone has a part to play in ensuring they slow the spread of the virus,” a police spokeswoman said.
“We would like to remind people they must not leave or be outside their home unless they have a reasonable excuse.”
The Japanese augmented reality game stormed the world back in 2016, with players encouraged to travel around and collect virtual Pokemon.
But new lockdown rules ban non-essential journeys.

Cops can be heard telling him: “That’s a bit of a kick in the teeth after the year we’ve had so I’m going to give you a ticket.”
And police can now dish out fines of up to £6,400 to Brits who are caught flouting the new lockdown rules.
They will also be allowed to break up crowds under the new national lockdown rules.
Despite tougher sanctions, there are still fears lockdown could be tightened even further in a bid to slow the spread of a new deadly strain of coronavirus.
Outside exercise with a pal and other freedoms are under threat if lockdown flouters do not get their act together.
Shops and supermarkets have also introduced tougher restrictions to help curb the spread of coronavirus.
And today in Scotland, First Minister Nicola Sturgeon toughened up the country’s lockdown with a crackdown on takeaways and click and collect.
