SOME 800 pensioners over the age of 80 queue for a Covid jab today.
They descended on the Tilehurst Village Surgery at Reading in Berkshire — though it is not known why so many arrived.
The GP’s website had confirmed that it would invite people to attend via text.
It stated: “The Covid-19 vaccine has to be given to patients within a few days of delivery to the surgery.
“We are unlikely to get more than one week notice as to delivery dates.
“We will thus be alerting and inviting patients to Covid-19 Vaccination Drop-in clinics via TEXT message as this is the quickest and most time efficient way.”
