DR. Anthony Fauci has been accused of lying to the American public after newly-revealed documents show the National Institute of Health seem to contradict his claims that his Agency did not fund research of coronaviruses in a Wuhan, China, lab.
Senator Rand Paul of Kentucky said Dr. Fauci lied in congress as he shared the bombshell Intercept article on social media.
The article includes documents which claim the National Institute of Health did give grants to EcoHealth Alliance – a nonprofit that funneled federal funds to the Wuhan Institute of Virology for bat coronavirus research,as reported by the New York Post .
“Surprise surprise – Fauci lied again,” said Senator Paul on Tuesday. “And I was right about his agency funding novel Coronavirus research at Wuhan.”
In a heated exchange with Senator Paul during his congressional testimony, Dr. Fauci denied that his Agency provided funding for “gain-of-function” research, which modifies biological agents.
But the grant proposal included in the newly-released documents was for a project named “Understanding the Risk of Bat Coronavirus Emergence.”
The project included the testing of thousands of bat samples for novel coronaviruses.
