Tragic Misdiagnosis
A 21-year-old man from Paisley, Scotland, has tragically passed away just days after being diagnosed with cancer. Gerald Green initially believed his symptoms, including back pain, were simply the result of needing a new bed. However, his condition quickly deteriorated, and he was rushed to the hospital after experiencing vomiting and coughing up blood.
Desperate Measures
Upon arriving at the hospital, doctors discovered that Gerald had severe anemia and performed surgery to drain his kidneys. Unfortunately, during the procedure, Gerald stopped breathing and had to be resuscitated. To save his life, medical professionals placed him in an induced coma.

After a week of testing and waiting, Gerald awoke from his coma to receive the devastating news that he had an aggressive form of cancer. Recognizing that his disease was spreading rapidly and was incurable, Gerald was transferred to St Vincent's Hospice.

Just hours after arriving at the hospice, Gerald sadly passed away on January 30. His parents, who had been by his side throughout his ordeal, are now urging young people to take their symptoms seriously and seek medical attention promptly.
A Beloved Son
Gerald's family remembers him as a talented footballer and a kind-hearted individual. He had recently given up playing to care for his father, who had suffered a stroke. The devastated family has set up a GoFundMe account to raise funds for Gerald's funeral and give him the send-off he deserves.

The suddenness of Gerald's passing has left his family in shock. Ailley Colquhoun, Gerald's cousin, shared that the whole family was with him when he passed away. Gerald's final words were ones of love and goodbye.
"He told us he loved us and he said goodbye. Those were his last words. He passed away a few hours later," Ailley said.
The loss of Gerald has left his family and friends devastated, as they remember him as a funny, cheeky, and easygoing individual. They reflect on the fact that he had his whole life ahead of him and was unaware of his condition until just last week.
