Mum Loses Part of Nose After Cancer Misdiagnosis

Spot Dismissed as Infection

A mum had part of her nose removed after doctors misdiagnosed a suspicious mark as an infected spot. Sarah Jones, 52, visited doctors in 2020 concerned about a blemish on her nose that wouldn't heal. Despite being told it was just an infected spot and given antibiotics, the mark persisted.

Dentist Discovers Cancer

It wasn't until a routine dentist appointment in 2021 that Sarah's dentist noticed the mark resembled skin cancer. Doctors confirmed the diagnosis and Sarah underwent surgery to remove the cancer, leaving her with a three-centimeter dent in her nose.

Regrets Over Sunbed Use

Sarah, a Slimming World consultant from Leeds, used sunbeds in her younger years and now warns others about the risks. She regrets her sunbed use and emphasizes the importance of avoiding them to prevent skin cancer. Sarah urges people to opt for fake tan instead of risking exposure to harmful UV rays.
